Features and Benefits
The External Reinforced E-Ring is a version of the standard E-Ring, but is reinforced to accommodate higher thrust loadings and RPM. They function in the same size grooves as the standard E-Ring, so you can change from one to the other without re-engineering the application. EFC offers these in inch and ANSI metric standards.
MATERIALS:
Carbon Spring Steel (SAE 1060-1090/UNS G10600-G10900) High strength and reliability; Austempered to eliminate brittleness and ensure strength
Stainless Steel (Armco PH 15-7 Mo) Extra strength; Corrosion-Resistant; Prevents atmospheric oxidation up to 900 degrees F; Minimal distortion; High ultimate tensile strength of 225,000 psi; High creep strength
Beryllium Copper (Alloy #25/UNS C17200) Conductivity; Excellent corrosion resistance, especially in sea air and sea water atmospheres
FINISHES:
Plain (No finish)
Phosphate Coating ( Carbon Steel Retaining Rings)
Zinc Plating (yellow dichromate post plating finish - 96 hour salt spray protection)
Mechanical Zinc Plating (For SAE 1060-1090 steel rings - eliminates hydrogen embrittlement)
Zinc Dichromate Lacquer (Corrosion protection of up to 240 hours of salt spray protection)
