NUTS - SELF RETAINING U-TYPE SINGLE THREAD

Product Description

Single Thread U-Nuts have the same fastening functions as the J-Type, but are used where a full bearing surface on the lower leg is desired. During assembly, these high-performance "U" nuts are placed over the edge of a stamped panel, or through a pre-stamped slot, and are simply pushed until the rear of the fastener locates against the panel edge or snaps into the clearance hole. They can be used on plastic or steel panels. They are self-retained in screw-receiving position to provide simple, rapid attachment of mating panels and cannot turn as the screw is driven.

Corrosion presents no problem, as these U-Nuts will not freeze on screw threads. In fact, the U-Nut's impression actually cleans out rust, dirt or paint clots from the screw threads as they are removed.

The use of Single Thread U-Nuts results in savings in assembly cost and reduced maintenance hours. Vibration loosening and corrosion are no longer a problem. Single Thread U-Nuts can replace clinch type fasteners, save assembly time, and reduce material and handling costs.

Example Application:

U- Nuts can be designed into an automatic clothes washer to secure a solenoid and mounting bracket. Lower production costs, greater efficiency and reduced service costs result.
