  • SHEETtracs®

The reliable assembly of thin sheets with pilot holes has always presented a problem for removable joints. For sheets thicker than 1 mm it used to be possible to apply common sheet metal screws but an increasing reduction of sheet thickness, due to the cost saving potentials, prevents this today. EJOT now developed a secure solution for the process reliable assembly of pre-punched sheet metal joints with less 1,5 mm thickness, the self-tapping EJOT SHEETtracs® screw. This fastening element also supports the implementation of individual light weight design strategies. For an example a reduction of the sheet thickness of casing walls of "white goods" became possible with the SHEETtracs® - an important factor for the weight and also cost optimization of this product category (enabled thinner sheet metal to be used thereby lowering overall cost of the whitegoods made possible by use of SHEETtracs® screws).

The EJOT SHEETtracs® features a 45° (30° / 15°) asymmetric flank angle and with less material displacement it creates a stronger female thread in the sheet. This increases the stripping torque level of the joint and enables multiple repeat assemblies. In the lower, tapered area of the screw, the flank angle is reversed, and the resulting through draught is formed mainly into fastening direction. The non-circular thread forming zone ensures easy, centered application and the raised thread areas ensure a secure penetration of the sheet material. The circular cross section in the upper, load bearing thread results in higher thread engagement in the sheet metal compared to non-circular thread geometries.

The EJOT SHEETtracs® is a self-tapping screw for reliable thin sheet metal joints with pilot hole. Various head styles and drives are available.

  • Paint Clearing Anti-Cross (PCAC™) Threading Bolts
  • Hurricane™ Anti-Strip Tapping Screws
  • Crimptite® Self-Tapping Screws

Crimptite® Self-Tapping Screws provide unmatched performance against strip-out and vibration loosening in sheet metal applications. Even after removal and reinsertion, they maintain their strong holding power for more solid assemblies and greater joint integrity.

They are available in two styles - serrated or smooth bearing surfaces, in sizes #6 - 5/16" (M3.5-M8). Head style are hex or round washer, and they can use any thread or point style.

  • GX® Self-Extruding Screws
  • Mag-Form® Thread Forming Fasteners

Mag-Form® thread-forming fasteners are specially designed to compress strong threads in the nut material, eliminate separate tapping operations and minimize debris generation even after removal from and reinstallation into magnesium and other low-ductile materials. They are available in sizes M1.6 to M12, in pan and flat head styles.

  • MAThread® Anti-Cross Threading Fasteners

241068-Custom MAThread® anti-cross threading fasteners are designed to avoid thread engagement in misaligned conditions and never cross threads! They are available in various point shapes and sizes ranging from M4 to M18 (Inch #8 to 5/8).

  • Strux® Clinch Studs

Strux® Clinch Studs provide an external thread in sheet metals. They are a cost effective, high performance alternative to other staked or welded products. They are designed for maximum resistance to push-out and rotation, and eliminate problems associated with weld studs.

  • Cyclone Tapping Screws
  • Taptite 2000® Thread Rolling Fasteners

A new generation of fasteners, the Taptite 2000®, provides the benefits of previous Taptite® fasteners with an innovative new thread design - the Radius Profile® thread. The Taptite 2000® maintains the low thread forming torque of Taptite II® fasteners, and maintains or increases the high failure torque and other structural characteristics attained with Duo-Taptite®. They provide the end-user enhanced opportunities to reduce overall costs of assembly.

  • SINULOC® Machine Screws
  • Shakeproof® Threaded Screws
  • WALC™ Bolts

The Washer Anti-Locking Captivation or WALC™ solution prevents captivated washers from sliding over the thread like regular SEMS. The unique design of WALC™ provides the perfect answer for SEMS in automated assemblies. Washer Anti-Locking Captivation makes it impossible for the washer to lock. By serrating the partial thread beneath the screw head, WALC™ becomes integral to the screw thread and extends for 1 pitch minimum from the washer bearing surface.
