Short Tongue Spring Spade Terminals combine the connection security of a Ring Terminal with the insertion ease of a Spade Terminal. Like the Standard Spade Terminals, these have an open end which enables easy handling and quick insertion on the mounting screw. Connection security is provided by small projections inside that provide a snap-on "locking" mechanism to hold them in place until the mounting screw is tightened. While it is not necessary to remove the screw before disconnecting these terminals, extra force is required, thus they will not fall off.
