Features and Benefits

Features and Benefits

N/A BigHead® fasteners are load-distributing anchorages, designed originally for plastics but now widely used in metal fabrication and assembly. They provide a complete and versatile fastening system for specialized molding techniques, such as: rotational, injection, GRP and many others. BigHead® can be positioned by adhesives, POP rivets and screws, encased in plastic molding, and are ideal for blind applications.

Additional Information

Additional Information

N/A Shell Sets consist of four basic elements:
  1. A backing plate, perforated to improve adhesive curing rates and mechanical bonding strength, with an M6 (or similar) hexagon nut, resistance welded centrally.
  2. A blanket pin, normally in the diameter range of 5-10mm, is threaded on one end for attaching to the backing plate. Pin length is dictated by the required final thickness of resilient blanket insulation material.
  3. A spread washer, normally 50mm diameter, is used for load dissipation and to prevent "blanket creep" over the smaller S3 Ratchet Washer
  4. A spring clip, or "ratchet," washer for retaining the insulation material/assembly once the blanket has been "impaled" over the blanket pin.
